2020 The Year of …. Declaring And Receiving God’s Promises

We began with an important truth

To be blessed and Effective for God this year ….

        God Honors/Blesses  His Will

           That’s why we pray

        “Thy kingdom come Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven       God can only Bless what  He can Bless

Then we looked at

God’s Commitment  to Us in 2020

John 10:10
2 Cor. 11:14
for 2020

The thief (enemy) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

In the last days, Satan will change himself (deception) into an angel of light (truth).

We began with an
important truth

To be blessed
and Effective for God this year

  How to Hear God in 2020

                       &

         Knowing God’s Will  in 2020 

                      

Over the years  the No. 1 area I deal with in counseling is requests about God’s will
Questions like

• “Does God really speak to us”
•  “What is God’s plan for me?”
• “Is this of the Lord?”
• “Is God wanting me to do / not do this?”
• “Is this the Lord, me, or the devil?”
• “What is God saying?”
• “What is God’s highest for me?”
• “How do I hear God?”

Let me say:

“I can give a person a fish and feed them for a meal

But if I teach them how to fish I can feed them for

 a lifetime”

• 90% of people regularly feel that it’s  difficult to hear Go
• 98% of people say sometimes it’s not clear whose voice their hearing
• 100% of the people have had difficulty determining His will at times

I’ve found the reasons why people don’t hear God

• They don’t know how to listen
• Unfamiliar how God speaks
• Fear (might make a mistake)
• Inadequacy-unworthy
• Blockages (sin, disobedience, unforgiveness, only want to hear their answer )
• They don’t give God an opportunity
• They don’t realize God speaks in many ways

Bottom Line in Receiving from the Lord

He Knows Best

Good is  one too many  0

Ps 25:4-5 Show me your ways , O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Prov 3:5-6   Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;   in all your ways acknowledge him,

Isa 55:8-9   “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,“  declares the Lord.   “As the heavens are higher than

the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways  and my

thoughts than your thoughts.

Hearing and Knowing

God’s Will in 2020 

Essential For God’s plan for you

(So important this year)

Our goal is

So we can

move from

“Can you hear me now?”

to

“You Can hear me  Now”

Hearing God is essential for

• Direction in 2020
• Relationships
• Knowing God’s will
• Ministry
• Receiving God’s “Favor”
• Answers to prayer

Last week

God’s Word  on His Direction(to you-personally)

The Word says
His voice will be

• Personal  (not just general) (logo and rhema)
• Clear (not confusing)
• Correct   (not full of mistakes)
• Unfolding ( not the whole picture)
• Continual (will never stop)

The Lord wants to release His will daily and direct YOU  in the details of your  life.

Today
John 10: 27-28 (Jesus said) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can take them away from me.

Initial comments

John 10 My sheep hear my voice

John 10:14 I know my sheep and my sheep know me

• When you know someone you know what they sound like (husband wife, child, friend acquaintance) “Voice recognition”
• When you know someone you know how they act and respond(their mannerism)
• Even when they deliver a vocal or written message from someone else, You know that it’s them.

It’s a “learned process…

Same with God

Our confidence:

God has promised to Speak and Guide us in 2020

In order for us to know God’s will in the details of our lives in 2020

We have to know how He speaks and guides

Ps 50:1-3 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth

from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. God shines forth. Our God comes and will not be silent

Ps 69:34 Heaven and earth praise him, and reveal His will

• Desires and burdens

Phil 2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose

Ps 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

1 John 2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

2 Tim 2:22 Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness

2 Tim 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful

for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Now choose life … and love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and follow His directions. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you the increase He has promised to you…
