Praise Releases Your Breakthrough

Throughout this year remember…

“It’s all bout the spiritual”

“On earth as it is in heaven”

We first breakthrough in the spiritual realm

Then we see it in the physical realm

Today
Palm Sunday

Matt 21: 6 -16

The disciples brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!” ….

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” ….The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple area, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant. “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read, “‘From the lips of children and infants you have released praise’?”

2019 The Year of …. Possessing Your Breakthrough

Next Sunday

Easter- the Proof Of Breakthrough

Palm Sunday
Preparation for Easter
Jesus enters Jerusalem

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of an monumental week

  • Coming to End of His public ministry
  • Enters into Capital City of Jerusalem
  • Sets the confrontation with “religion”
  • Establishes Communion (Last Supper)
  • Garden of Gethsemane-Confrontation of Hell
  • Crucifixion- Defeat of Hell
  • Resurrection-Defeat of death

 Historic Background

This incident was prophesied in 2 fulfillment parts

( 520 B.C.)

  •  Part 1 (Lord’s 1st entry into Jerusalem 33 A.D)

Zech 9:9

Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle (humble) and riding on a donkey

  •  Part 2 ( To Jerusalem- Lord’s 2nd return)

Zech 14:3-4

Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle. On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.

Zech 14:9

The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.

Underlines the fact

That when the Lord says He’s going to do something…  He is going to do it

Jesus exposes and establishes important truths

Luke 19:37-40

When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!“ Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, ” rebuke your disciples!“ “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

1.He Exposes

Religion (man’s ideas of connecting with God) stops relationship which releases the Lord’s entry and His provision. (days ahead)

  • Jesus, ” rebuke your disciples!“
  • Tell them to keep quiet
  • Stop them from praising
  • This is not the way it is done
  • Stop them from moving towards Breakthrough

He establishes Praise releases the Breakthrough

Matt 21:16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?“

they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,

‘From the lips of children and infants you have released praise?

Praise means to

  • acclaim
  • applaud
  • honor
  • worship
  • celebrate

Jesus was quoting
Psalm 8:2

‘Through lips of children and infants you have released praise

A different word in the original language used in the O.T. by David

“‘Through lips of children and infants you have released..

         PRAISE RELEASES

  •          Strength and healing
  •          Restoration and provision
  •          Breakthrough

Matt 21:14 And Jesus entered the temple, the blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.

Important

This area is so very important

So many Christians take it

  • Lightly
  • Optional
  • Ignore it

The Importance of Praise for Breakthrough

  • Praise Establishes God’s Word

When we praise we release the Word of God

Matt 6:9-10 Our Father in heaven, praised be to your name, your kingdom come, your will be done

Heb 2:12 I will declare your praise in the presence of the congregation

Matt. 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Isa 55:11 I send my Word out, and it always produces fruit.

  • Praise Causes Realignment

3 Part beings (1 Thes: 5:23, Gal. 5:16)

Body –Flesh

Soul-Mind, will emotions

Spirit- Part that links with God

Praise re aligns us

Ex 15:11 “Who is like you, O LORD? Who is  like you–majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders

  • Praise Removes Fear

Fear is demonic

Praise focuses us back on God

2 Tim 1: 7 For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

Ps 34:3-4 Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

2 Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where

the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom

  • Praise Releases Faith

Psalm 138:1 I give you thanks, O LORD, with all my heart; I will sing your praises …  I will give thanks to your name When I pray, you answer me;  you encourage me by giving me the strength I need.

Romans 10:17 So faith comes by hearing,

and hearing the word who is Christ

  • Praise Defeats the Enemy

Ex 17:10-11 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning,

2 Chron 20:21-22 Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.” As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against their enemies

  • Praise Releases Strength

Ps 42:5-6 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Ps 18:32-35 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect… he enables me to stand on the heights. …. You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains m

Psalm 8:2 (correct) From the praising lips of children and infants you have established strength

  • Praise Releases God’s Provision

Ps 50:23 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation (provision) of God.”

Matt 21:9-14 “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!“…The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them…

Ps 31:21 Praise be to the LORD for he showed his wonderful love to me

Heb 11: 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

  • Praise Releases Breakthrough

1 Chron 16:12 Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles,

Ps 77:11 LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

Ps 77:14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.
