David said, “I watched the LORD break through like a mighty flood.” So he named the place “The Lord of the Breakthrough
When a person’s steps follow the Lord, God is pleased with his ways. If he stumbles, he will not fall, because the Lord holds his hand.
2019 The Year of ….
Possessing Your Breakthrough
Throughout this year remember…
“It’s all about the Spiritual”
“On earth as it is in heaven”
We first breakthrough in the spiritual real
Then we see it in the physical realm
We’ve been looking at
“Possessing a Breakthrough Mind-Set”
You will see breakthrough in 2019 to the degree you live in a
“Breakthrough Mind- Set”
Prov 23:7 For as a man THINKS in his heart, so is he
I said
- God has revealed His methods
- If we wants to see Breakthrough
- Do it “HIS WAY”
- “I did it His Way”
We began
How to make
Breakthrough Decisions
“How to hear God”
In order to see Breakthrough
You have to know
- His Will
- His Plan
- His Way
Jere 29:11
I KNOW what I’m doing. I KNOW the plans I have for you–plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
Isa 30:21-22 Whether you turn to the right or to the left,
you will hear a voice, saying, “This is the way you should go.”
You’ve heard me say as Christians …
- We don’t make decisions
- “We follow in obedience“
- His ways ….
- Always WORK!
- Our focus is to:
- “Find His Will”
- Guaranteed Breakthrough!
Breakthrough Decisions”
- From daily decisions and choices that will impact our lives..
- Which job to take, which car to drive, where we are to live which person to date or marry
- To which God/god we choose to serve
- Our lives are defined by the decisions we make
- The decisions that we make determine “breakthrough”
We looked at
General keys for making Breakthrough Decisions
We began by seeing
WISDOM-> The Key to Breakthrough
James 1:2-8 (nlt)
If you need WISDOM–if you want to know what God wants you to do–ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. They can’t make up their minds. They waver back and forth in everything they do.
Wisdom
- 218 X in Scripture
- Wisdom- whole book in the Bible devoted
- Proverbs- Solomon
We looked at How to get- WISDOM
Keys to Breakthrough
Many people have
- Knowledge
- Knowledge is information
- But they don’t use Wisdom
- Wisdom is to correctly apply knowledge
- It causes us to miss or delay Breakthrough
It’s the same in our dealings with God
The Key to Breakthrough
“BE WISE”
Last week we looked at the
Don’ts
Ways we can miss Breakthrough (most common mistakes)
Don’ts- How we can miss Breakthrough
- Don’t get ahead of God’s Timing
- Don’t presume God’s direction
- Don’t put God in a box
- Don’t look for next w/o doing the last
- Don’t be “ results” driven
Next I want us to look at the
Do’s
- The template to release Breakthrough and God’s blessing in your life
- Keeping your “Mind-Set” right
- Neutralizes the enemy’s attacks
I’ll say it again
The Christian lifestyle is a series of making the “Wisest Decisions”
Next

Fact finding tour
Check out areas/possibilities/options
Prov 20:24 A man’s steps are directed by the LORD
Rev 3:7 When he opens a door, no one can close it.
And when he closes it, no one can open it.
- Present your findings to the Lord
Lay them out before the Lord
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Come near to God and he will come near to you.
Ps 25:4-5 Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior
- Posture to hear the Lord
Open to the Lord’s will
Expect the Lord to speak
John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God.
Ps 27:7-8 Hear me as I pray, O Lord. Be merciful and
answer me! My heart has heard you say, “Come and
talk with me.“ And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”
- Deal with the enemy
Confusion
Doubt
Fear
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- Declare God’s Word
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him
Ps 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
Phil 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus
- Check with wise counsel
Ps 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly
1 Thess 5:12 Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you
Heb 13:7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and
imitate their faith
- Wait until you receive Peace
Col 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
Luke 1:79 You guide our feet by way of peace.
Isa 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever
John 14:27-28 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
- Stand in faith believing
Heb 11:1;6 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him.
- Respond to the Lord’s direction
Wait causes doubt
