“Do this in remembrance of me”

Today

The Power of  Personal Communion

Matt 26:26-28

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Do this to remember what I’ve taught you

Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.  This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Matt. 10:10

Jesus says that I have come you may have life and that life more abundantly

Luke 22:29

then at the end of his ministry he says do THIS to “remember me at all that I’ve taught you for they will be very important for the days ahead

Matt. 10:10

Jesus says that I have come you may have life and that life more abundantly

Let me walk you through the steps of Personal Communion

Let us then approach the throne of grace (Communion Table) with confidence, so that we may ask for and receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

1 Cor 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this to remember me

” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

We begin with

Ps 103:2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget thee good things he does for me

THE CUP

He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
