Staying Strong in Faith

Posturing for God’s Provision

Phil 1:6  1 John 5:14-15

Posture yourself in this mindset and be confident of this very thing, that God has started His work in you and will see that it is completed when Jesus returns.

This is the posture we are to take: if we ask anything according to God’s will, he hears us and if we know that he hears us, we have what we asked for.

Eph 6:10-11  Finally, posture yourself in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes

Col 1:23 So continue in your faith, posturing yourself established and firm, not moving from the hope held out in the gospel.

This is a very important time

it’s called the: “in between time”
“In between” the Promise and the Provision

POSTURE

  • attitude
  • stance
  • mindset
  • a determination
  • a focus

Posturing correctly is very important during this time to defeating the enemy’s attempt to rob( fear, anxiety, hopeless) from us the Lord’s promise of provision.

1 Peter 5:8 Be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;

1 Peter 5:9 Resist him, stand fast in the faith

Let’s look at

Keys to How-to posture In faith In this time

(Living in victory) (check list)

Posturing in the in-between times

  • Am I NOT allowing fear to enter in?

The enemy works through fear

God never leads by a “spirit of fear”

The enemy controls by fear

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

  • Am I NOT allowing negative thinking to control ?

News, etc.

God works on a “positive”

Negative thoughts lead to:

negative words, which lead to negative actions

Isaiah 26:3 You keep him in perfect peace whose thoughts are on you, because he trusts in you.

  • Am I NOT becoming discouraged?

Discouragement robs us of

  • physical, emotional and spiritual strength
  • Brings on depression and despair
  • Causes hopelessness

Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and have courage. Do not be afraid; Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

  • Am I NOT becoming frustrated with God’s timing ?
  • Enemy’s ultimate objective is to separate us from God
  • Frustration pours over into every area of life.
  • Places stress on relationships
  • Takes away joy
  • Makes each day harder

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything,.. but in every situation, ..present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

  • Am I keeping connected to God ?
  • His presence is a place of protection
  • Where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we have, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

  • Am I holding my “Spiritual Ground”?

Not Giving in/up

Not settling for less

Not losing spiritual growth/ sensitivity/ desire for the Lord

Ex 14:13 “Do not be discouraged. Stand firm and you will see the provision the Lord

will bring you

  • Am I taking advantage of the opportunities each day?

This is a time to minister to your family/others

The enemy wants us caught up in just existing

The Lord has set divine opportunities each day

to walk right into His provision and blessings

Lamentations 3:23 The provision of the Lord is new each day; great is your faithfulness.

  • Am I staying in hope for the future?

Traps by the enemy:

“Things will never change”

“What are we going to do after this”?

“How are we going to make it

Jere. 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future

  • Am I living in faith each day?

Expect the Lord to intervene

Look daily for His provision

Release faith prayers

  • Stand
  • Believe
  • Declare

Heb 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.;
