is a very powerful tool which the Lord left  his disciples at the Last Supper.
I want us to look at  the full meaning of this sacrament and then introduce the spiritual warfare aspect where we can appropriate the victory of Christ’s death on the cross and the teaching presented in God’s Word.
These truths are to be used by us today and  we will see the power of the enemy defeated in and through our lives as we establish the Kingdom of God through each of our personal ministry.

The Lord is  Preparing and equipping us-For His Unfolding Plan for Revival

We’ve been looking at

How to Stop Robbery in your life (personal protection)

I want to look at is the

The Power of Communion

At the Last Supper
Jesus said..

John 6:47-51

I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.  I am the bread of life.  Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died.  But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.  I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread , he will live forever.

Luke 22:19

he took bread , gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

Matt 26:27-28

he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.  This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins

Lord’s Table
(Communion)

Reinforces…

His ways

His faithfulness

His promises

His commitment to us

His love for us

Communion
(The Lord’s Table)

Is also to be recognized as a place to declare the power of the enemy has been  defeated

Isaiah 46:9 -10

Remember the things I have done for you in the past. For  I am God, and there is no one like Me. From the very beginning,    I told what would happen  long before it took place. I keep My word and fulfill my promises. I know the end from the beginning

“Remembering” is very important to the Lord

It means to…

The Power of Communion is to Remember…

HIS WAYS

Isa 55:8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”declares the LORD. .

Ps 128:1-2
Blessed are all who reverence the LORD, who walk in his ways–> You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.

Mic 4:2

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, He will teach us his ways, so we may walk in His paths (blessings).

 Deut 11:22-25
If you carefully observe all these commands I am giving you to follow–to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways and to hold fast to him…Every place where you set your foot will be yours:

The Power of Communion is to Remember…

HIS FAITHFULNESS

Ps 36:5-7 Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies., How priceless is your unfailing love!

Ps 89:1-2 I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

Ps 117:2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.

Isa 25:1 O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things,

Lam 3:22-23 for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

The Power of Communion is to Remember…

HIS PROMISES

Ps 145:13-14

The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.

2 Cor 1:20

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

Ps 119:50

Your promises preserve my life.

Rom 4:20-21

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,  being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised

The Power of Communion is to Remember…

HIS COMMITMENT TO US

1 Thes. 5:24

He who calls you is faithful, and he is committed to do it.

Matt 18:19

“Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.

 1 John 5:14-15

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him

Heb 9:15

For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise

The Power of Communion is to Remember…

HIS LOVE FOR US

Rom 8:39-9:1

Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16-17

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

1 John 4:10

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Eph 5:1-2

Follow God’s example therefore, and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

The Power of Communion is to Remember…

HE HAS DEFEATED THE ENEMY IN AND THROUGH OUR LIVES

Eph 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

Ps 136:24 and freed us from our enemies,

Matt 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven

Rev 1:17-18 “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

Isa 54: 17 no weapon forged against you will prevail

Rev 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;

Communion reminds us that the powers of the enemy has been defeated

Sickness Has Been Defeated

Robbery Has Been Defeated

Fear Has Been Defeated

Discouragement Has Been Defeated

Addictions Have Been Defeated

Divorce Has Been Defeated

Hopelessness Has Been Defeated

Satan (your enemy) and his lies has been defeated

Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.

Hebrews 4:16

Let us then approach the throne of grace (Communion Table) with confidence, so that we may ask for and receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

1 Cor 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in to remember  me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remember me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
