‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.(the anointing) In those days I will pour out my Spirit on those who are serving me

 David said, “I watched the LORD break through like a mighty flood.” So he named the place “The Lord of the Breakthrough

 God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control

So Christ has made us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get  tied up again in any area of bondage

We first breakthrough in the spiritual real

We’re building on the  RELEASE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The  key to Victory (Breakthrough)  for the Christian is

“Be filled with the Spirit”

The essential to all the Lord has

in every area of our lives

We saw Breakthrough (BT)

BT in the Bible is one of the definers of God

His name

His character and nature

His desire to break off areas of the enemy and BT into His promises

Spiritual BT isn’t just “breaking through” it also

includes “breaking off”

This is the greatest tool of the enemy
for the days ahead

“The Spirit of Fear”

We began with the foundation to
Breaking Free

Everyone has been impacted by this emotion

It began in the Garden of Eden when man stepped out of God’s protection

Fear (facts)

• The prevailing feeling of society today (terrorist, fraud, insecurity, mass shootings)
• Surveys show over 80% of the people say that fear is

the driving force in their lives

• Causes sickness, debilitation, paranoia
• The second most marketable subject of movie industry
• Single most effective tool of the enemy

I said in order to defeat fear

• We have to understand its characteristics
• We have to be aware of the traps of the enemy
• Once we recognize the signs we can break its influence and live in freedom

We saw

• The “spirit of fear” is not based on

“real danger” (deception) and is

out of proportion to the threat

Attempts to remove God from the circumstances.

We looked at major causes
of fear

Parental influence

Some fear is due to being raised an atmosphere of insecurity

 Past associations and events

Bad experiences from the past can cause fear. Memory of what happened can cause fear to persist and influence other areas

Guilt

Unresolved  guilt produces fear (condemnation)

Lack of knowing God

Incorrect, incomplete understanding of

God can result in fear

Results of Spirit of Fear

• Sickness (cancer , heart attack, other maladies)
• Bondage (phobias, addictions, emotional disorders )
• Reduces activity and productivity
• Sets up a “failure syndrome”
• Removes self worth
• Quenches faith, hope, love
• Limits God

How to BREAK the SPIRIT OF FEAR

2 Timothy 1:7

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of sound mind NKJ

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy

Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

The devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping

 

The enemy comes to bring

the thief comes to rob your spiritual identity

The enemy desires to

• Remove who we are in Christ in order that fear, doubt worry, anxiety can enter in
• Remove our sense of God’s love for us which causes us to lose trust in Him

Why does the enemy try to remove our feeling of God’s love for us?

Because…

The Key to Defeating Fear

(Not determination, self help classes, vacations, denial, mind over matter, yoga or drugs )

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear (NIV)

Love has no fear because perfect love expels all fear.( New Contemp.)

There is no fear in love. Perfect love puts fear out of our hearts. (New Life )

Fully translated
1 John 4: 18

There is no fear in love. But God created  genuine, without mixture love, forces out drives away and locks out fear

• Love – looks for opportunities to give
• Fear – clutches and is distrusting
• Love – thinks no evil
• Fear – thinks of little else
• Love– believes all things
• Fear – Suspicious of everything that       everyone

Contrast Love & fear

• Love– is busy at today’s tasks
• Fear – is neutralize today for worrying about tomorrow
• Love – forgives and releases
• Fear – holds on and binds up
• Love – leads to greater love and trust
• Fear – leads to greater fear and suspicion

Cover yourself with the full provision of God to defeat the attempts of the enemy (fiery darts) to derail you. (MCV)

Ps 112:7-8 He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. His heart is secure, he will have no fear

 

LOVE
overcomes fear

• Will not let other emotions to override

I Jn 4: 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear (NIV)

1 Cor 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails

COURAGE (determination)
 overcomes fear

• Enemy’s goal à timidity –loss of identity
• Who we are in Christ
• Circumstances are to be weighed in light of our destiny

 

Ex 14:13 “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today.

Josh 1:9  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

 

CORRECT CHOICES

• God makes the choice….we follow in obedience

SEEKING THE LORD

. Jer 29:13 you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

 Ps 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Matt 7:8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

2 Chron 14:7 we sought the LORD our God and he has given us rest on every side.

 

FAITH
overcomes fear

• Faith sees from God’s perspective
• Faith believes what “God says”
• Faith responds to please the Lord
• Thinks/feels the way the Lord does

Eph 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus

1 John 4:4 the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Phil 2:5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Mark 9:23 Everything is possible for him who believes.”

Matt 17:20  I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, Nothing will be impossible for you.

• Lord will never lead us out of His protection

 James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Joy
overcomes fear

• Not “ha ha”
• Means àSufficiency – Fullness (Gifts of Spirit/Blood/ His Name)
• The completeness of God / His nature

John 15:11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete

Neh 8:10 Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (stronghold, defense)

Ps 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy

Standing in your authority
overcomes fear

• Recognizing who you are in Christ
• Thief comes rob-liaràrob identity
• We’re told to use our authority

Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to .. overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Matt 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Matt 10:1  He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

2 Cor 10:4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the Devil’s strongholds.

Intimacy
overcomes fear

• For God so loved world (you)
• Everything Lord does is to deepen relationship
• Place of safety-the enemy cannot enter
• If afraid –run to Him COMMUNION (personal/family) www.celebrateJesus.net

Ps 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.“
