I want to deal with a current issue that impacting the world today
The CORONAVIRUS
- From a spiritual perspective
- “The Christian Perspective”
U.S.
- Many states mandatory “stay at home” required
- (only to leave for essential needs)
- 118,00 Public Schools closed
- 50 million students affected
- Stocks have fallen worst since 2008
- Unemployment rate rising
- U.S. Health Department has declared the Coronavirus (COVID-19) a Pandemic (worldwide disease)
It has created a universal atmosphere of FEAR
FEAR
The greatest tool of the enemy against mankind especially the Christians
Fear (facts)
- The prevailing feeling of society today (terrorist, fraud, insecurity, mass shootings, epidemics)
- Surveys show over 80% of the people say that fear is the driving force in their lives
- Causes sickness, debilitation, paranoia
- Single most effective tool of the enemy
Results of Spirit of Fear
- Sickness (cancer , heart attack, disease)
- Bondage (phobias, addictions, emotional disorders )
- Reduces activity and productivity
- Sets up a “failure syndrome”
- Removes self worth
- Quenches faith, hope, love
- Limits God

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of sound mind
Romans 8:37
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us

Will not let other emotions/news override
World is full of anxiety
Anger at Gov., China, home “shelter in place” lines at stores,
Fear of the future
John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Phil 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
- Joy overcomes fear
John 15:11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete
Neh 8:10 Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (stronghold, defense)
Ps 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy
- COURAGE(determination) overcomes fear
Enemy’s goal à timidity –loss of identity
Who you are in Christ
Circumstances are to be weighed in light of our destiny
Ex 14:13 “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the
deliverance the LORD will bring you today.
Josh 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be
with you wherever you go.”
Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
