They too will listen to my voice, My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

The Lord directs the steps of those who seek Him.
He is involved in every detail of their lives.
Though at times they may miss His direction and stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by His hand.

Practical questions we should ask before we step out.
These are the most prominent places where most Christians go astray

What ?- Movement
“Lord what would you have me do ?”
“What is your will ?”
Go through previous instructions on “Knowing God’s Will”

When?- Timing
“Lord when do you want me to do this ?”
Might be important ? !!!
So many people miss it at this point.
Once they determine what God’s will is- they think they should start moving out.

When ? –Timing
It’s important to seek God’s timing after we know His will. (Ex. Abraham, Is.,Disciples)
We don’t want to get there before God gets there.
Often He may have us WAIT
Reasons why God has us WAIT
Waiting reveals…
Do we really want God’s will or just a solution?
Waiting builds relationship
Remember the process is as important to God as the solution.
Will we be patient?
Often other details have to come together first.
God is arranging the circumstances and people to come into order
Understanding God is preparing us so He can answer our prayers.

God is equipping us for the next step.
It’s often grander than we think.
Will we rest in God or will we worry ?
Aka TRUST
God’s timing is perfect ?!!

Will we try to make something happen on our own ?
So often we try force things into place .
“we have to do something, we can’t just sit here”
Presumption is not faith- Peter on the water

God’s ways are perfect.
He will reveal them
“when in doubt… don’t step out !”

Why ? – Motive
Sometimes His will or His way is not what we expect
Asking “why” is not doubting God.
It’s okay to ask..
“why is this important?”
“Can you share with me insights so that I may have greater understanding”
“are you trying to show me something in the process?”
These are very important questions that we often overlook.
God is not like our parents… “Why? Because I said so”
He often reveals His motivation to us.
